Our Engineers have developed a new Software and Firmware update to allow permissive testing with the PCMT 2600 even easier! Software version 5.2 and Firmware version 6.6 work with one another and must be installed together to insure smooth operation.
Downloading the software and firmware is easy!* Just follow this link to the PCMT 2600 download page. Alternately, you may click on our logo at the header of this email, which will direct you to the proper page.
Once at the proper page, download either the self extracting or zip version of the software. When you click on the software link you may be prompted to choose a file location, it is easiest to save the file to your desktop. Once the download is complete, do the same with the firmware update.
Connect your PCMT 2600 to your PC.
Install the software to your PC by opening the file you saved to your desktop. Once the file is installed, open the software and click on the "About" tab. On the bottom right of the "About" tab you'll see a "Firmware Update" section, click on the "Select File" button and choose the firmware update from your desktop. Click on the "Start Update" button. Once the update is complete you may begin testing with the improved software and firmware.

Now that we have quite a few TS2 Frame Grabbers out in the field, we are getting feedback from our customers and distributors. Overall the product has been received well.
We have had a few questions regarding use of the TS2 Frame Grabber and the information that it provides. The following will hopefully answer some concerns.
The TS2 Frame Grabber...
The TS2 Frame Grabber was designed as a troubleshooting tool, not a tester. Just like an oscilloscope or multi-meter, the TS2 Frame Grabber cannot tell you specifically what caused a problem, but will give you the information you need to help you troubleshoot.
It is especially useful for difficult to diagnose communications issues.
For example, the TS2 Frame Grabber will record that a "Missing Response" occurred and the user can then use the search and filter tools in the software to search through thousands of frames to determine if it has happened before and under what conditions it happens. The TS2 Frame Grabber will not tell the user specific things such as; "the Missing Response occurred because there is a problem with BIU#1" or "there is a poor connection in the cabinet wiring, etc.."
We are currently looking into adding more detailed descriptions of flagged occurrences such as "Missing Response" within the Help files of the FrameView software.
It is suggested that the user have a copy of the NEMA TS-2 standard to ensure that they have an understanding of the operation of a TS-2 cabinet and the SDLC communication protocol. A detailed description of all of the frames is given in the standard.
Visit the NEMA web site for more information on the standard. Click Here
If you would like to see more on the TS2 Frame Grabber including a sample file, download the software here.

ATSI will soon release an SDLC/Port 1 Tester for TS2 Monitors!
That's right, an SDLC/Port 1 Tester!
How will it work?
It will be an add-on device for the PCMT-2600 model of Conflict Monitor Tester. It will work with the PCMT-2600 software to test the functionality of the SDLC/Port 1 circuit on TS2 monitors.
When will it be available?
We plan to have the product available for shipping in late Summer of 2008. We will have a demo at the 2008 IMSA National Conference.
What will it cost?
The cost will be around $1,000.00 per unit.
Will it be backwards compatible with the PCMT-2500?
Currently, we are not planning to make the tester compatible with the PCMT-2500. If you are a PCMT-2500 owner and would like to have the tester work with your PCMT-2500, send me an e-mail. If there is enough demand, I can convince the boss to make it compatible!
We will have progress updates on our web site here.

ATSI is happy to announce that we will soon have a new product to
add to the ATSI line...the TS2 Frame Grabber.
The TS2 Frame Grabber is a device that connects to the SDLC communications
in a TS2 cabinet and records the SDLC frames as they pass through
the device. When the signal goes into flash (or is put into flash
because of an accident or manually by a tech or policeman), the device
will save up to the last 1/2 hour of SDLC communications to a Datakey.
The technician can then retrieve the data from the Datakey and analyze
the information to determine the cause of the intersection going into
flash. The included Frame Grabber software will break the report down
into plain english, making the vast amount of information quickly
and easily understood.

information
The List Price of the TS2 Frame Grabber is projected to be between
$1,500.00 and $2,000.00 U.S.
